Stock Show

Both M and E LOVE the Stock Show. They talk about it all year. When the time is getting close they eagerly count the days until they get to see all the animals, eat yummy food, and ride the rides on the Midway.

We recently read a book called Me Jane by Patrick McDonnell and in it a girl named Jane (Jane Goodall) sneaks into the chicken coop to observe the miracle of a hen laying her egg. The girls talked about that as we watched the hatching of these eggs and seeing the new baby chicks.

We got to the sheering of a sheep.

It was fun getting to touch the smooth feathers of the hens.

E was amused getting to hold this chicken.

Their favorite part is the Midway. Thanks to Nana and Pop Pop for this yearly treat!

Pop Pop knew they wanted to taste their first nachos, and happily supplied them with some.

If you know me you know I hate it when people stare at me while I eat, so taking a picture of me is even more slightly torturous. However, my first try of fried Oreos was a delicious experience.

The girls loved wearing their boots. M calls it part of her being "Fort Worth." Thanks for joining us Nana and Pop Pop! Till next year Stock Show!
