Books 51-100

We finished! We reached our goal of reading 100 books. It is something we are really glad we did with our girls. Our enjoyment of the library has improved as we were forced to visit it. Some of the books I placed on hold, but it was fun having the girls pick their own books too. Our love of Kate DiCamillo books has increased, and we found some new authors we enjoy. Anatole by Eve Titus is a story our whole family enjoyed and we look forward to reading the other books in the series. We did not have any problems with any of these books except two. Happy Birthday to You by Dr. Seuss was rather hard to read out loud so consider yourself forewarned. The other book was Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo because although an amazing story the content was hard for our five year old to handle. She cried very hard at parts, and we even considered to stop listening to it on audio book. However, we are glad we finished because we were able to discuss forgiveness, and M got the closure she needed from hearing the end of the story.

One of my favorite things about this was I left to return some books to the library by myself, and the girls yelled after me "bring back some Richard Scarry books and more Mercy Watson, and more dinosaur books!"

The final chain went up tonight and A and J are pretty excited about it.
