Spring School

We have been back doing school for a little over a week now. These are the books on her shelf to start the year:
Nursery Tales by Mary Engelbreit
The Lion Storyteller Bedtime Book by Bob Hartman (We like to look on the globe to find where each story was written. A neat collection of stories thus far)
Tall Tales by Jim Weiss
Paul Bunyan by Steven Kellogg
Pretend Soup and Other Real Recipes by Mollie Katzen and Ann L. Henderson
The Best Storybook Ever by Richard Scarry ( Love, love this book!)

This weekend M made her first dinner for the family from her new cookbook (listed above):

We did not have refried beans so she improvised and she made them with black beans. It was a mess and a lot of supervision, but a ton of fun. She loves being able to "read" the recipe.

These are pictures from our table time for this week: (Both girls love those pipsqueak markers by Crayola. They fit so nicely in their little hands. I bought them at the Target Dollar Spot last week.)

E's snowflake match from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

E would choose a letter magnet and put "play" it for M. M would hear it and find that letter on this sheet and circle it with her highlighter. I really liked this activity because I was able to have both girls engaged at the same time. The alphabet sheet is from Playdough to Plato.

M places the number of buttons on the corresponding rectangle.

E sorts the buttons by color.
